Popular with students, young professionals and families alike great activity just outside the city centre
This is one of the most popular places to live in the Newcastle area and with good reason too. It is popular with students, young professionals and families alike thus creating a great diversity and a busy little hub of activity just outside the city centre.
There are a number of fine restaurants and bars running through the middle of Jesmond on Osbourne Road, a place where people come from all over the country to eat and enjoy a good night out. There are too many to name but restaurants not to be missed include The Cherry Tree and Louis Restaurant or through the summer months pull up a seat in the heated courtyard at Scalinis Restaurant and watch the busy world pass you by. Fancy a different type of night out or drinks after that meal? Why not try Osbornes Bar, Spy Bar or take a short walk to the popular Bar at the Brandling.
Jesmond does offer much more than just a good night out; there are some lovely clothing shops and small coffee shops to relax in when that shopping gets too much. On a practical note there is also a small Tesco and Waitrose situated on Osborne Road and Acorn Road.
There are also numerous top schools in the area including the Royal Grammar School and Central High School. Don’t forget there is also Jesmond Dene, a little green belt which is slightly hidden away but great for fitness enthusiasts and dog lovers giving you the feeling that you’re out in the countryside whilst still within walking distance of a busy City. Jesmond Dene House in the middle of the dene offers a high class dining experience.
Finish this off with great transport links via Jesmond and West Jesmond Metro Station providing easy access to Newcastle City Centre and beyond.
